Avonhead Early Edventurers
Formerly known as Cuddles Early Learning Centre, Avonhead Early Edventurers is a boutique, Christchurch owned and operated early education centre located in the heart of Avonhead. With a licence for just 50 tamariki, our centre offers something truly special, a close knit community where every child is known, valued, and supported as an individual.
At AEE, we believe learning should feel like an adventure. Every day is thoughtfully designed to spark curiosity, nurture confidence, and encourage independence in a calm and welcoming environment that feels like a home away from home. Our experienced and passionate kaiako create rich learning experiences through both spontaneous play and intentional teaching, weaving literacy and numeracy naturally into meaningful moments.

We are now officially Avonhead Early Edventurers.

Our modern purpose built centre provides carefully designed spaces for infants in our Discoverers Room, toddlers in our Explorers Room, and preschoolers in our Wayfinders Room. Each space reflects the unique developmental needs of the children within it, while also allowing opportunities for connection, tuakana teina learning, and shared experiences across age groups.
In partnership with our local primary schools, we proudly offer our unique Trail Blazers Ready for School programme, supporting our older tamariki to transition confidently into the next stage of their learning journey. Through strong community connections, intentional teaching, and a focus on leadership and self help skills, our children leave us prepared, capable, and excited for school.
At the heart of Avonhead Early Edventurers is whanaungatanga — meaningful relationships between tamariki, whānau, and kaiako. These connections form the foundation for trust, belonging, and positive outcomes that allow every child to flourish.
